I've been away for a while, due to a death in the family. Times like that are always hard, and I remembered that the last time I was going through a difficult period in my life I painted this little dancing girl as a sort of talisman, to help me remember the joy that simple things can sometimes, unexpectedly, bring.
So, the "fluid" nature of this illustration may be the dance, but it is entirely appropriate for my first blog post back.
So sorry to hear about the sad news, but this little girl really is so joyful. I love the outstretched arms, the pointed toes, and the movement in the hair and skirt.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy, glad to be spreading the joy.
